INJURY REHABILITATION

Filed under: Treatment — admin @ 6:55 am

Injuries are very common in any sports. Injuries may be acute or chronic. They may prevent the players from entering the field for a particular period until they get cured. Because in today’s sporting world, every individual is ready to grab the place of the other when given a chance.

It will be difficult to cope up with the emotional sensations at the time of injuries. But they should realize the truth and practicality and start concentrating to recover soon. The mental attitude plays a vital role here. Past cannot be brought back. So it is absolutely a waste of time to think about and in fact it may be a hindrance for the speedy recovery. An injury will be unfair to any athlete who has been physically active. Some of the best possible ways to cope up with injury are:

· Know about your injury: Learn about the causes, treatment and prevention of your injury. Understanding this information will prevent you from undergoing a traumatic experience.

· Use your mind for speedy recovery: Mental skills can help to speed up the healing process. Self-hypnosis use all the senses to create mental images, feelings and sensations related to successful recovery even though the actual recovery may be slow.

· Be in touch: One good aspect is to be in touch with the trainer, team mates after your injury or treatment. They can always help you and give nice tips. Be an active member of the team always.

· Stick to your goals: Just because you are injured, it does not mean that you can stop dreaming your goals. Set your goals and use each and every moment in planning on how to achieve your goals.

· Mental attitude: Mental attitude matters a lot. You can be a loser physically but not mentally. Constantly believe in yourself and listen to the trainer and doctor. To get the most out of rehabilitation, have a self talk and stay focused on what you wanted to achieve.

· Maintain your fitness: Have regular work outs depending upon the seriousness of injury. Try for alternate forms of training to maintain the strength and flexibility of muscles.

I always want to do well against Australia: Harbhajan

Filed under: Sports — admin @ 6:49 am

Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh wants the focus firmly on his bowling and not his behaviour when the home Test series against Australia starts on October 9.

“Yes, I’m sick of all the bad-boy crap,” he said on Friday ahead of the four-Test series.

“I’ve no interest in hearing about how controversies follow me wherever I go,” he said. “I’m going to stay away from all that.”

He added, “It’s always important to learn from your mistakes. I’ve learnt my lessons, good and bad; the good things teach you stuff as well.”

India will rely heavily on the 28-year-old, their second most successful Test spinner, who is nine short of taking 300 wickets, while hoping he would avoid the kind of drama that marred their previous trip Down Under.

Giving an example the friend added, “A song in Singh is Kinng that was shot in Egypt, was shot in extreme conditions. The entire cast and crew were perspiring profusely except for Katrina. The entire crew was surprised.” It is the cold weather that leaves Katrina absolutely cold. “While shooting for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani in Ooty, Katrina had wrapped herself in layers of blankets. BCCI never attempted to get Champions Trophy scrapped: PCB

Filed under: Sports — admin @ 6:46 am

The Pakistan Cricket Board has dismissed reports that the BCCI attempted to get the Champions Trophy scrapped from the international calendar at the ICC meeting which postponed the eight-nation tourney until next year.

As per some reports the Indians, at the last meeting of the International Cricket Council in Dubai, questioned the necessity of having the tournament in the first place.

But PCB chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi said he was not aware of the Indian board raising any such objections.

“No one at the meeting said the Champions Trophy should not be held,” Naghmi said.

“I was there at the meeting and the Indians did raise a point about finding a new window because of their prior commitments next year but they never said the tournament should not be a part of the international calendar,” he added.

On the contrary, he said the Indians were quite flexible on adjusting the Future Tours Program to find a new window for the tournament whose hosting rights are still with Pakistan.

“With India’s support I am sure all other nations can do a bit of adjusting to find a new window for the tournament,” Naghmi said.

IBM Workshop - Tagore Engineering college

Filed under: Technology — admin @ 2:45 am

’m disgusted with myself for going to the college and attending the so called ‘training’ session the first place. Everything went wrong from the word go. I woke up at 6.30 in the morning and caught the bus at the usual time 7.25 AM. Since I didn’t know which PTC bus to take to go to the college, I decided to take the College bus itself. It appears that the route via Camp road is a short cut but little did I realize that the road was not in good condition. I stood there, in the middle of the bus, enduring the torture. When we (Manju kutti and me) reached the college, the place what they call an Auditorium was deserted and only we two were from AIHT.

We decided to enquire the administrative officer, who probably had no idea what was going on. Then we went to the placement office, where the PA of placement officer was new and he too didn’t know what was going on. Finally, we both had tiffen at the canteen (mind you, there are 4 canteen contracts in that college). We had to wait till 12 for the IBM techie to arrive. Looks like he was from Delhi and wasn’t received by anyone. Poor thing lost his way and made it to the college very late.

After sitting there for what seemed to be an eternity, enduring his immaculate (ISSCHOOL, ISSCOPE, ISSTUDENT-ish) english, we four made our way out of the college.

Title Tales

Filed under: Entertainment — admin @ 6:12 am

Do film titles have any effect on the movies’ success? Did Kuselan do more justice to the connotations related to its name rather than its star cast? Are the acci dents reported on the Sarvam sets a result of a jinx associated with its name? Do films with ‘poo’ in their titles usually guarantee a hit? Will a title like Enga Rasi Nalla Rasi, actually bring luck to the producer? Such superstitions usually abound in Kollywood. Is there any truth in them? Well, all we can say, is put on your thinking caps, follow the success graph of various films and draw your own conclusions folks!
